Event Description:
In this class, students will explore the attributes of color—hue, value, temperature, and chroma—and will mix and paint a value scale and color wheel and work on various exercises that address topics such as how to alter chroma, the relative nature of color, and simultaneous contrast. The class will consist of lectures, demonstrations, and handouts. The instructor will use oil paint; however, students can use other mediums such as acrylics, pastels, or watercolor. For critiques, students are encouraged to email a well-lit digital photo taken with a cell phone. The instructor will use Photoshop to make notes and annotations over the photos. Beginners to color are welcome.
