FREE hot glass demo at our NEW GLASS STUDIO, Flameworks! Step right up and ignite your creativity at Flameworks, the Center's new glass studio at our Hyannis campus! Join us for an Open House and hot glass demo to meet our talented teaching Lampwork artist, Carolyn Ferrell, and learn about upcoming glass beadmaking classes. Weekly classes will start this July, where you'll receive comprehensive instruction followed by ample practice time, starting with the fundamentals of safety, flame control, stringer making, and creating round beads using only black, white, and clear glass. As the weeks progress, you'll delve into captivating techniques like applying dots, encasing stringer, incorporating silver leaf, and crafting stunning 3D surface embellishments and encased designs. For those eager to expand their skills, optional classes will cover working with molds, presses, stamps, and off-mandrel techniques.
