Building Resilient Community: A Reading Group Facilitated by Maddy Lavangie

8 Wednesdays, Mar 19-May 14, 530-730pm. Free or by donation. Interested in community building with an open mind and a desire to connect? Join Building Resilient Community, an 8-week reading group facilitated by Maddy Levangie. The primary reading material will be Emergent Strategy by Adrienne Maree Brown, and based on the group's interest, other materials like podcasts, book chapters, or articles may be added. Meetings will consist of discussion of material, activities to help build community amongst the group, and brainstorming ideas for how to implement the material in the broader community. The first few weeks will be more structured by the facilitator, and later weeks will be informed by the group's curiosities and goals. Throughout the program, participants will also collaborate to create a way to wrap up the group with a community-facing project, like a manifesto, art piece, community event, etc. This reading group is free, donations are gratefully accepted, and registration is requested.
